Warhammer : Gotrek, Bugman and Gombrindal the White dwarf WIP1

Picture the legendary Gotrek Gurnisson, side by side next to Josef Bugman both being the dwarf shield bearers of non other than Grombrindal, the legendary White dwarf. That is going to be epic...so whoelse better to be my general army than them!?

Feel more than welcome to comment.

Warhammer dwarf cannon

Finally after a lot of work my Old School Dwarf Cannon is finished.

I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed painting this guys. This was my first war machine or complex project involving a more complex display.

Hope that you like it and if you don´t please leave a comment on the comment section below, as the saying goes, you live you learn :)

Warhammer dwarf cannon WIP 9, Dwarf engineer

I a having a blast painting this war machine, finally I got back to the joy of painting. I think I will write an article in the future about the painter's burnout sindrome and ways to avoid it.

Warhammer dwarf cannon WIP 8, Dwarf engineer

One step closer now to the destination. Still halfway trough this fella but eventually we will get there :)

This Master Engineer will be supervising the cannon crew. He will be detachable from the base as an additional option for the unit.

Warhammer dwarf cannon WIP 7

Slowly getting through this lovely miniature.

Still quite a lot to do:

-Getting the base done.
-Retouching the metals of the cannon and dwarfs.
-Detailing the base.
-Adding an engineer to supervise these guys.

It is at this point of the project when everybody needs to be focused, as the energy starts to decrease and the desire to finish increases. It is all about the little details :)

Some more progress in the cannon. This time I went for a combination of a rich turquoise with a simulation of bronze ( or at least that is what I aimed for...).

Have you ever wondered why the painting masters prevent you from the perils of using too much black on your mixtures?

Have you ever wondered how applying black to a skin mix can affect the overall result on your minis?

Do not worry, I am here to show you that.

On the left you will see my initial attempt to the skin, to the right the dwarf as it stands now. I had to correct the whole skin as I am looking for a really vibrant and colourful piece on this war machine.

Warhammer Vampire Counts Ghouls-WIP2

Finally I dicided that the blue skin didn´t do the trick, so I went for the classic rotting flesh for these guys.

The models are quite simple, nothing fancy about them.

Soon the unit to be finished.

Warhammer Vampire Counts Ghouls-WIP1

It has been a long time since I last posted anything on the Blog.

Sometimes live just happens, and we find ourselves with no motivation to keep doing what we really love. Anyway, it feels really great to be back, batteries are fully charged and I am ready to give my painting a big push this year.

As you can see in the photo above, I painted a Mantic Games Ghoul. I think that the models are really cool, and the value for money is pretty amazing. You can find them HERE. I went for the blue kind of skin, but to be honest I am not convinced at all, so I will change the whole scheme and provably go for a classic pale rotting flesh colour.

This miniature will be part of a gift for a friend as a part of a unit for his Vampire Counts army. I previously painted for him a mini conversion of a MOUNTED BLOOD DRAGON  for his birthday. If Truth be told we have both been growing our armies for ages!!!

Best regards,

Gimnir
