Scale 75 Abyssal bust-WIP 2

Image
Work in progress for the abyssal warlord. As I mentioned in the openning post for this bad boy, I wanted to go go for a white armour style. Not too sure if I am getting where I wanted but at least is some progress, and hey, where is the fun if there is no learning!! Regards

Scale 75 Abyssal bust-setting the goals

Image
I took a nice little break from miniature painting after The white dwarf . And I thought that it would be amazing to attack some of the members of the infamous list that I prepared some years ago with all the majority of the miniatures that have been waiting to be painted for ages.  This bust sculpted by Alfonso Giraldes for Scale 75   is a monstruosity, as big as my fist and the detail is amazing. Alfonso had been a commercial painter for ages and when he designed this piece for sure that he knew what to offer to all the painters out there: VOLUMES and TEXTURES. It is a really niece piece because you have the round and cilinder like shoulder pads, a nice and big bold head that allows testing skin tones, fur and metal alike. In this miniature I would like to set here some of the things I'd like to explore and try to further my understanding of colour: White like armour Iron rust beneath white painted plate. Subtle red osl underneath figure Purple deep eye...

Finally I am done with this miniature. I loved the process of getting them ready for some tabletop action.  I will now take a break from my dwarf army and paint something different to recharge the creative mojo. Warhammer : Gotrek, Bugman and Gombrindal the White dwarf, WIP2

Image
Long break from posting but that doesn't mean that I am not painting. This is another WIP picture from my warhammer fantasy dwarf army army commander: The only and unique-the WHITE DWARF with GOTREK and BUGMAN as shield bearers. Hope you like it. Let me now what you think and if you are still collecting any warhammer fantasy army yourself. regards

Warhammer : Gotrek, Bugman and Gombrindal the White dwarf WIP1

Picture the legendary Gotrek Gurnisson , side by side next to   Josef Bugman   both being the dwarf shield bearers of non other than Grombrindal, the legendary White dwarf. That is going to be epic...so whoelse better to be my general army than them!? Feel more than welcome to comment. Regards

Finally after a lot of work my Old School Dwarf Cannon is finished. I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed painting this guys. This was my first war machine or complex project involving a more complex display. Hope that you like it and if you don´t please leave a comment on the comment section below, as the saying goes, you live you learn :)

Warhammer dwarf cannon WIP 9, Dwarf engineer

I a having a blast painting this war machine, finally I got back to the joy of painting. I think I will write an article in the future about the painter's burnout sindrome and ways to avoid it. regards, Gimnir

Warhammer dwarf cannon WIP 8, Dwarf engineer

One step closer now to the destination. Still halfway trough this fella but eventually we will get there :) This Master Engineer will be supervising the cannon crew. He will be detachable from the base as an additional option for the unit. Regards, Gimnir

Warhammer dwarf cannon WIP 7

Slowly getting through this lovely miniature. Still quite a lot to do: -Getting the base done. -Retouching the metals of the cannon and dwarfs. -Detailing the base. -Adding an engineer to supervise these guys. It is at this point of the project when everybody needs to be focused, as the energy starts to decrease and the desire to finish increases. It is all about the little details :) Regards, Gimnir

Warhammer dwarf cannon WIP6

Some more progress in the cannon. This time I went for a combination of a rich turquoise with a simulation of bronze ( or at least that is what I aimed for...). Regards, Gimnir
